gm envolve: onstar dualcam replay social
When GM Envolve (the fleet and commercial arm of General Motors) launched their in-vehicle dash cam, they needed social support to help get the word out about the product.
But, alas, the social budget and timing didn’t allow for a shoot of our own. So, we had to create something social-worthy from repurposed TV-spot assets (not always ideal for social, but we do what we must).
Together with my copywriter/art director team, we came up with the idea of applying a sports telestrator treatment to the footage and pairing it with our own commentator-themed VO.
Not only did we highlight the functionality of the camera, we found a way to make non-social assets social and have some fun along the way (and our clients loved it).
I’m still freaked out by errant dumpsters, though.
